YPC National Summer Lab and Studio is a one-week musical experience for innovative choral conductors and enthusiastic singers in grades 6-12 at one of the most beautiful beach communities in our country, in residence at the Music Academy in Santa Barbara, California.

Conductors and teachers will work with MacArthur Award-winner, composer, and conductor Francisco J. Núñez, along with the YPC artistic faculty, studying repertoire and refining conducting skills.

This professional development workshop offers an opportunity for choral professionals to come together to work with the award-winning Young People’s Chorus of New York City and train with renowned conductor Francisco J. Núñez, Founder and Artistic Director of the Young People’s Chorus of New York City, and the YPC team of master teachers. Choral conductors will earn new repertoire and work with composers-in-residence, refine conducting gestures, score analysis, and vocal technique, and participate in discussions surrounding the 21st Century youth choir
