Young People’s Chorus of New York City in Tennessee Debut at Lee University

On its first tour of the year, a treble chorus of 42 Young People’s Chorus of New York City singers, conducted by YPC Associate Artistic Director Elizabeth Núñez – a Lee University Distinguished Alumni Awardee - will make its Tennessee debut at Lee University’s Pangle Hall on Friday, April 13 at 7:30 p.m. in a distinctive, two-hour YPC program of music and show-stopping choreography that has won YPC renown on four continents.

Young People's Chorus of New York City is featured as a special guest for Cellular Songs on March 14-18 at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.

Cellular Songs is the newest in a series of music theater pieces created by Meredith Monk that explore our interdependent relationship with nature while seeking to evoke the ineffable. Following the celebrated On Behalf of Nature, which offered a liminal space questioning the precarious state of our global ecology, Cellular Songs turns attention inward to the very fabric of life itself.

Get ready! The Young People’s Chorus of New York City and Artistic Director/Founder Francisco J. Núñez are about to hit the Jazz at Lincoln Center stage with a non-stop musical extravaganza in a spectacular celebration of the renowned chorus’s 30th anniversary. Together with special guests, renowned baritone Lester Lynch and Broadway’s Tony Award-winning, power songwriting duo Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, more than 400 young people strong will fill the stage and boxes above with show-stopping production numbers, complete with dazzling choreography, in a program that chronicles their astonishing history and imagines the stunning successes to come.

YPC Participates in New York’s Oldest Christmas Tradition

The Young People’s Chorus of New York City makes the holiday season even brighter with a festive concert that celebrates the many ways New York City families commemorate the holidays. Led by YPC Artistic Director/Founder Francisco J. Nunez and Associate Artistic Director Elizabeth Nunez, YPC’s award-winning choristers will be joined by Metropolitan Opera star Ailyn Pérez in program of holiday favorites, international gems, and some very special surprises. This fun-filled concert for the whole family will take place in Carnegie Hall’s Stern Auditorium.
