Sing with Us: Audition for the Young People's Chorus of New York City™

The award-winningYoung People's Chorus of New York City™ has a limited number of openings available in its after-school program. Interested boys and girls ages 7 to 18 are encouraged to tryout and no prior music education is necessary. Auditions are by appointment and take place throughout the year.

The audition process for the youth chorus is simple: candidates sing a song of their choice and must be able to sing basic music patterns. For more information or to schedule an audition, contact the YPC by phone, 212-289-7779, ext. 10 or by e-mail, audition@ypc.org.

Those accepted to participate in the award-winning Young People's Chorus of New York City™ will receive voice training and develop performance and sight-singing skills. Choristers in performance divisions will have the opportunity to sing in some of the most important concert halls in North America and Europe, with professional symphony orchestras and with some of today's top artists.

The YPC after-school program has five chorus divisions:

Prelude, Girls and Boys 7-10

Intermezzo, Girls and Boys 10-15

Cantare, Girls and Boys 11-16

Young Men's Chorus, Young Men 13-18

Concert Chorus, Girls and Boys 12-18
