This October, the Young People’s Chorus of New York City welcomes 45 young artists from China’s Guangdong Experimental Choir to New York City for a week of music, learning, and cultural exchange.
As part of this special collaboration, YPC and the Guangdong Experimental Choir come together at Lincoln Center for Song Bridge, a joyful Mid-Autumn celebration bringing two internationally acclaimed youth ensembles and their distinct musical traditions to one stage.
Led by YPC Founder and Artistic Director Francisco J. Núñez and Guangdong Experimental Choir conductor Xie Mingjing, the performance celebrates the extraordinary artistry of these young musicians and the ability of music to create connection across languages, cultures, and continents.
The performance is part of a relationship spanning more than 20 years, beginning when Núñez and Xie first met on the international choral stage in 2005. What began through competition has grown into an artistic partnership rooted in choral excellence, mutual respect, and a shared belief in the power of young people to build meaningful connections through music.
Presented as part of the YPC Tandon Global Collab, the weeklong exchange includes performances, rehearsals, educational experiences, and opportunities for YPC choristers and their peers from Guangdong to learn, create, and experience New York City together.
Join us at Lincoln Center for an afternoon of extraordinary music and a celebration of the connections that can begin with a song.
