Commissions + Premieres

The Young People’s Chorus of New York City (YPC) has a long history of commissioning and premiering exciting new works for young voices since its founding in 1988 by YPC Artistic Director Francisco J. Núñez.

Transient Glory

Francisco J. Núñez created Transient Glory in 2001 to spotlight the children’s chorus as a serious and glorious instrument for making music during that fleeting period of time when a child’s voice is imbued with a particular poignancy and innocence. This music is expanding and energizing the repertoire for young people and demonstrates the ability of young people to rise to unforeseen artistic heights.
