Prelude

PRELUDE

Caitlin Dobmeier, conductor

  • Girls and boys, ages 8 through 10
  • Meets on Thursdays, 4:30-6 p.m. weekly from September through June
  • Children learn basic vocal techniques such as posture and breathing, sight-reading and performance skills, including choreography. They sing unison and two -part repertoire in many languages and present 3 to 5 public performances yearly

Intermezzo

INTERMEZZO

  • Girls and boys, ages 10 through 15
  • Meets Mondays or Fridays, 4:30-6 p.m. from September through June
  • Children learn vocalization, sight-reading, written music theory, and performance skills, including choreography. They sing unison, two- and three-part repertoire in many languages and present 3 to 5 public performances yearly

Cantare

CANTARE

Elizabeth Núñez, conductor

  • Girls and boys, ages 11 through 16
  • Meets Tuesdays and Thursdays, 4:30-6:30p.m. from September through June
  • Children learn vocalization, sight-reading, and performance skills, including choreography. They learn to sing in three- and four-part harmony with repertoire in many styles and languages. This ensemble begins advanced level repertoire in three- and four-parts and performs 20-30 concerts each season

Amani

AMANI

Sonny Willis, conductor

  • Young men, ages 11 to 16 with changed voices
  • Meets on Wednesdays, 4:30-6:30 p.m. from September to June
  • Singers learn music theory, aural training and performance skills, including choreography. Individual attention is given to each singer as his voice develops. They learn to sing in three- and four-part harmony and advanced level repertoire in many styles. The frequently combine with the Young Men division for performances

Young Men

YOUNG MEN

  • Young men with changed voices, ages 14 through 18
  • Meets on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 4:30-6:30 p.m. from September through June
  • Singers learn music theory, aural training and performance skills, including choreography. Individual attention is given to each singer as his voice develops. They learn to sing in three- and four-part harmony and begin advanced level repertoire in many styles and give 30-40 public performances yearly

Concert Chorus

CONCERT CHORUS

  • Girls and boys, ages 14 through 18
  • Meets on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, 4:30-6:30p.m. from September through June
  • Concert choristers must demonstrate advanced vocal techniques, fluency in sight-reading and harmony. Concert choristers master a rigorous program of challenging music of many styles, including pieces commissioned for the ensemble and give 40 – 50 performances each season

Chorale

CHORALE

  • Members of Young Men and Concert Chorus combine to perform SATB advanced repertoire
  • Rehearses on Wednesdays, 4:30-6:30 p.m. as needed
