Young People’s Chorus of New York City Presents Its Spectacular Winter Concert at Lincoln Center’s David Geffen Hall on Sunday, December 8

A Very Merry New York Invites Audiences to “Find the Light” Through Reimagined Compositions, Holiday Classics, and the Premiere of a New Arrangement of Song of Light by Grammy-nominated Artist Chandrika Tandon

 

NEW YORK (November 12, 2024) – This December,  Young People’s Chorus of New York City (YPC) invites audiences to “Find the Light” in its dazzling holiday spectacular, A Very Merry New York. Led by YPC Artistic Director/Founder Francisco J. Núñez and Creative Director Elizabeth Núñez, YPC’s beloved annual winter concert will take place at Lincoln Center’s David Geffen Hall on Sunday, December 8 at 5:00 p.m., showcasing the spirit of the season in the heart of New York City.

 

One of the city’s most joyful musical traditions, A Very Merry New York will feature nearly 600 award-winning YPC choristers, hailing from every New York City borough, Long Island and Westchester. Under the direction of YPC’s talented conductors Caitlin Henning, Ahra Cho, Maria Peña, Emma Sway, Taylor Smith, and Juliet Freedman, the program includes an eclectic selection of music from around the world, reimagined compositions, and beloved holiday classics brought to life with lively choreography by Jaquelyn Bird, YPC’s choreographer.  This year’s theme, Finding the Light, shines through in the premiere of a unique new arrangement by Grammy-nominated artist Chandrika Tandon’s Song of Light. The concert will conclude with a festive sing-along where guests are welcome to showcase their musical talents.

Núñez, Artistic Director and Founder of YPC. “Our talented young choristers will take the stage at one of New York City’s most iconic venues to bring warmth, shine a light on the future, and spread the magic of the season with family, friends, and visitors alike.”

 

Tickets start at $59 per person. VIP tickets are also available, including access to a festive pre-concert reception from 3:30 p.m. through 4:30 p.m. at the Ackman Family Patron Lounge in the David Geffen Hall at Lincoln Center. The reception, which includes refreshments, is family friendly. VIP tickets start at $275 per person.

About Young People’s Chorus of New York City

The Young People’s Chorus of New York City (YPC) is a world-renowned multicultural youth chorus recognized for its virtuosity, showmanship, and innovative model of diversity. Founded by Francisco J.
