YPC in “Carmina Burana”

Musica Viva NY presented This Wild Earth, an electrifying choral experience that explored the power and beauty of the natural world. This dynamic program brought together music inspired by earth, fire, and storm, featuring striking works by Veljo Tormis, Gilda Lyons, and Eric Whitacre’s immersive Cloudburst, filled with thunderous percussion and sweeping vocal textures.
The evening culminated in Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana, a thrilling and iconic masterpiece pulsing with energy and drama. YPC singers joined Musica Viva NY for this final work, helping bring the performance to life in a powerful collaboration—an evening where voices surged like storms and music connected audiences to something raw, elemental, and deeply human.
